When to use a blank template vs. hire a storyboard artist
If you're prototyping a personal project, working on a student film, or just want to think a sequence through visually, the template is exactly what you need. Print, sketch, iterate.
If the storyboards are heading to a paying client or production team — film, TV, advertising agency — and the boards have to look the part, that's when hiring a professional usually pays for itself. The visual language of "this is a real production" is real, and clients spot the difference inside a frame or two.
Template formats — Q&A
Can I use it on a paying client project?
Yes. There's no licence restriction.
Can I rebrand it?
Please don't strip the small footer credit if you're sharing the template itself onwards. If you're filling it in for your own project, the credit is fine to remove on the final boards.
Can you make a 4:3 or 1:1 version?
Email me. If a few people ask I'll add it.
Can you make a digital Procreate brush version?
Same answer — email mitch.storyboard@gmail.com.
